S.D. Native Brock Lesnar | The Beginning

BrockLesnar1

Brock Edward Lesnar grew up on a dairy farm in South Dakota, and later joined the National Guard at the age of seventeen. Lesnar attended Webster High School in Webster, South Dakota where he had a wrestling record of 33-0-0 in his senior year. Lesnar then began his collegiate wrestling career at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Lesnar later attended the University of Minnesota on a full wrestling scholarship for his junior and senior years of college; his roommate was fellow professional wrestler Shelton Benjamin who also served as Lesnar’s assistant coach. Lesnar won the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship as a heavyweight after placing second in 1999. Lesnar finished his amateur career as a two-time NJCAA All-American, 1998 NJCAA Heavyweight Champion, two-time NCAA All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

In 2000, after his collegiate wrestling days were over Lesnar began his tenure in the world of professional wrestling where he seduced himself with pain killers and alcohol day after day just to keep himself sane and the pain down. In January 2001, Lesnar was arrested for receiving large amounts of what was alleged to be illegal substances. The charges were later dropped when it was discovered the substances were in fact legal sports supplements and were later described by his defense attorney as a “vitamin type of thing.” Posing as the heel in WWE, you can guess why it wasn’t a hard switch to bring the same attitude into the UFC.
Brock Lesnar has one daughter, he named he Mya Lynn, from his ex-fiancee Nicole, the couple broke up in the year 2003. Brock Lesnar started dating ex-WWE Diva and Playboy sensation Rena “Sable” Mero in 2003, the couple got engaged in the year 2004, but then separated in 2005, they didn’t separate for long where they re conciliated with each other and got married on the 6th of May 2006. Mero has one daughter from her late husband, Mariah, who is now the stepchild of Brock Lesnar. The couple had their first child together, a son named Turk in June 2009.
